It's hard to tell from the photos, but this tourmaline crystal is bi-color!! the denser, wider half of the crystal is a greenish blue-ish seafoam color, and the narrow end goes nearly colorless on a line right around the middle.
This will make a wonderful gem!! Cutting it into a standard emerald cut octagon step cut is probably the only way to preserve the color change from one end to the other - almost any other cut will probably mix the two colors together and they will be indestinguishable from each other.
OR, if this crystal is your kind of thing as far as owning a perfect little specimen, then I would encourage you to snap it up!! A faceter will probably scoop this up quickly, since tourmaline prices have been rising steadily, and then abruptly as the mining in Rubaya in the DRC have all but stopped completely, and that prolific deposit was propping up the affordability of the tourmaline market for years.
Icy as they come!! this will look great, either as a crystal in your collection, or made into jewelry as it is, OR cut into a flawless gemstone the possibilities are all super aesthetic.
