Comments:
This lot of kiwi garnets are a great, bright, open color! Most of these are what I would call good quality oversees cutting candidates, but there are a few to keep and cut yourself in here, and ONE of these in particular is well worth the parcel price.
The one I am referring to is the beast of the bunch. The average weight of each gem in the parcel is 2.29 ct., but the LARGEST is a nice, 3-Dimensional 3.25 ct. This one is further of interest, because it has in it what can only be described as a horsetail inclusion, very reminiscent of the horsetail inclusions seen in a close cousin of the kiwi grossular: the demantoid!
When seen in a demantoid garnet, a horsetail inclusion will add significantly to the value, as they are hightly collectible, and highly beautiful. Seen here, in this kiwi garnet I have no idea what to expect from a finished gem, so I can't speak to its afect on the value thereof.
But it seems worth experimenting with, I'd say!
