Somebody once described the color of Songea sapphires as 'witchy' - I love this, and find it so apt. There are a lot of bicolor gems from Songea, but they can be odd combinations sometimes. There are also just some strange colors out there. With that in mind, I present a trio of oddballs:
One is a gray-lavender, the next is a earthier, more subtle version of padparadscha, and the last is a kind of a warm gray-peach. Each of them mixes in their color with deep contrast. That makes all three of these mysterious, brooding gems.
They broadcast their color well in most light, but they're on the darker side, so medium light will be best.
These are not color changing gems, but you will get a dizzying sensation when trying to pin down just what color they are. Witchy is the right term for it.
