This gem is FANTASTIC!! I love gemstones that have SOME unique feature, and this one is ALL unique features, done well.
It has fairly good faceting, and a very good polish. But the carving is obviously where the magic is. It is a relief carving of the Hindu god Ganesh. The detail is fantastic, and the polish is also very good! Even in the tight, hard to get places, the polish is very lustrous. The edge of the gem, on the Ganesh side, is also carved concave, along all the edges, as if it was a bowl that Ganesh is sitting in. I have never seen such attention to a detail like that in such a relatively small piece.
