What can I say? This is one of the largest, cleanest vanadium kornerupine gems I've ever seen!
It's also cut here in Vermont, in my favorite custom gem shape: 'Retrograde Amelioration' by Arya Akhavan. I love to cut this shape, because it has a lot of uniue color effects and brilliance features I enjoy, and that make it stand out from other gems.
This is certainly a piece worthy of standing out from the pack: 3.26 ct. is GIGANTIC for this gem type. Clean examples of kornerupine above 1 ct. are considered rare. Gems over 2 ct. are few and far between, and over 3 ct.??? I've only even ever heard of a few examples this big. It's definitely the nicest I've seen with fancy cutting anywhere near this size.
