WOW!
This is an absolutely perfect cluster of unique yellow grossular garnets from a small find in the early 2000's in Hebei Province, China.
There is no damage whatsoever, anywhere on this piece. Its is also a really three - dimensional piece, displaying equally elegantly from any angle. It'd make an amazing piece of jewelry if anybody could think of how to set it. A challenge, for sure, but this piece is worthy, in my opinion.
There are some faces of crystals with some parallel striations, and then other faces have a very slight iridescence. In all of them you can see a kind of a 'core' within each individual crystal, resulting in a kind of a 'skeletal' look. The outer part of the garnet is gemmy, and there is a slightly opaque and lighter colored core creating this unique look.
I don't believe these are readily available anymore, and there's no steady source.
