This bright, magenta wine colored garnet is a great winter warmer! It glows in all kinds of lighting situations.
The ring itsef is a salvaged antique fork handle! I went to some trouble to preserve all the detail, inside and outside the band. The floral design is wonderful too, conjuring lush summer.
I believe the flowers depicted here are summer roses, or possibly raspberry flowers, so it's completely fitting for the garnet to to be absolutely raspberry colored!
If you look closely at the photo of the inside of the band, I was able to completely preserve even the makers marks, and material stamp (sterling). This pattern is actually still being produced today, but the fork that was used to make this ring is from closer to 1906.
The outer surfaces of this ring are all polished to a bright, final polish, while the inside of the band was left tarnished, as a nod to the antique origin. When you have worn this ring for a few days, much of the tarnish on the inside will have rubbed off, leaving dark areas ONLY in places like inside the lettering, and in recessed areas between border lines. The inside tarnish will 'wear in' to a very aesthetic shading, essentially. (This can be done on the outer surface as well, if shading is desired on the floral portion. Simply take it to your local jeweler for this shading-relief treatment)
