This is a fantastic, and versatile gem!! It's the perfect size for either a pendant or ring, and cut to meet-point perfection by me, here at my Vermont, USA studio.
The purple is strong with this one, with the off-axis being an amazing and electric seafoam green. When the colors play nice together, they mix up into the most amazing mermaid / peacock tones. It's a bit on the dark side, but the color and brightness find their way out in almost all situations. Plus, one of kornerupine's magic tricks is that it becomes more full of life and color with strong sunlight as opposed to washed out and overly contrasty, as other gems do.
It's inclusions are noticeable, but also very small, similarly sized, and evenly distributed, making for a perfect 'salt and pepper' gem -- Ideal for a moody, brooding high end piece of jewelry. Capable of matching any tone in it's spectrum quite easily, as the whole color suite is rather minty and cooling overall.
