Comments:
Kornerupine's rareness can't be overstated. That's why I invested a lot of time and money, and yes a loan or two, to get as much kornerupine as I could while it was around circa 2020-2022. Because of these efforts, I have a great selection in this extremely hard to find gem type.
It's a pleasure and a treat to be able to offer you kornerupine in all price and size ranges. With that in mind, here is a super clean oval, sporting good purple, and it's a price you can justify, and your customer could too. Immeasurable rarity, in a hardness (7) good for rings... Even as an exciting novelty, it will sell to someone who just has to have the most unique gem in the shop, but can't break the bank.
This oval is cut well, and shows well. The dichroism is relatively obvious, which is great, because in some other examples of this size, the purple color gets lost in lightness, and only seems gray. Here you still have a real sense of the many colors that chrome kornerupine offers, many of which depend on the purple...
Clean examples of this gem, especially showing good purple color, are exceedingly rare.
