This'll be one of the highest quality cabochons of chrome kornerupine that can be found, I'd reckon. It's not huge, but it IS the cleanest obviously purple chrome kornerupine cabochon Ive seen yet. Normally ALL clean material is faceted, and it is only because of my curiosity that this piece of gem material exists as a cab, rather than a faceted gem. I wanted to see it exist.
This gem has a great balance between teal, and purple, with the purple axis being about 45 degrees on the dome of the cabochon, so it will show a lot, as you move it back and forth. When it tilts away from the purple axis, it'll show a very pleasing medium teal. Honestly, there's a fair amount of some peripheral blue tones, too. It all depends on what angle you look at it, and the ambient lighting conditions around you.
