Comments:
Oregon sunstone is one of the most beautiful gems in the world. It has the best of both worlds in my opinion: Gemmy clarity, and a wide range of unique and aesthetic inclusions. Oregon sunstone, maybe more than almost any gemstone, balances these two key features in a dazzling array of combinations.
Oregon sunstones can be clear, yellow, orange, red, green, or blue-green, in rare cases. They can also have schiller, copper inclusions, oxidized copper inclusions, hematite, and even pyrite.
They can get CRAZY if nature is really whipping up a brew in that particular spot.
This pear shaped cabochon is quite striking! It has a bi-color patch of reddish orange coloration, partially surrounded by a big patch of rare blue-green color. It ALMOST looks like an egg, with an egg yolk... almost. There isn't any schiller in this one, at least not any that jumps right out at you.
I personally love that this piece exhibits three distinct colors.
Note: This gem is so transparent that it is magnifying the texture of the foam underneath it, and I just want to explicitly state that this gem is flawless, and any texture seen is external.
