Comments:
This thumbnail sized specimen is really impressive.
Starting from the top, the termination is complete, and is a fantastic denim blue, with chatoyant effect (cats eye, essentially);
The next section is totally eye clean, and has a great color shift from an earth-toned peach color to a vibrant padparadscha color. Here the tourmaline has a fracture, but there is a big bright white mass of albite gripping the crystal tightly together. The albite even has a little dash of lepidolite in it. The rest of the crystal, down to the base is a light gray green color, with a little darker green stripe lurking in there somewhere.
All in all, though on the smaller side, this crystal still knows how to show off. Aesthetics are bursting forth from this sweet little gem. It's the perfect piece to add to your tourmaline collection, or any collection of nice gemstone thumbnails.
