Comments:
This vanadium rich beryl crystal is a really great example of the new find from Nasarawa, Nigeria.
It's got a great termination, with a flat top, and triangular modifying faces on all corners. It even has crystallization emerging at the termination, showing a twin crystal that is also trapped inside the larger crystal (visible with close inspection).
It has a great overall size / proportion ratio, and is a respectable 4.56 grams.
Under a UV light, you will see red stripes, indicating vanadium content, but it is a bit difficult to see these color lines by eye. At the transition zone between silky, and gemmy, there is a line of opacity, and this line, I believe, is also a concentration of green / stripe of vanadium.
This find is NEW as of late 2025, and I believe it will go down as a fondly remembered find of very unique and interesting specimens.
