Comments:
This sapphire is super cool!! This general look and habit of sapphire is typical of material from Sri Lanka - Especially alluvial deposit sapphire crystals. The tall spires of jagged growth, with color zoning, excellent clarity, and interconnected crystals is one of the most recognizable, and distinct sapphire types in the world!
This one IS alluvial, meaning it has water and river worn edges in some places, but unlike a lot of alluvial gem crystals, this one has very little abrasion. It is lustrous in most places, and has sharp crystallization all over, and is mostly damage free. It does have just a small amount of wear as a bit of a 'lightly sandblasted' look. Its really a great sample.
It's got pale, but obvious yellow coloration, and includes bonus features like the 100% gem quality sidecar crystal attached on one side. Perfect for any collection!
