Comments:

This kornerupine ha wonderful dichroic properties - It shows as a bright, light blue, but it is really composed of a green axis, and a purple axis -- so you see those colors as well, in hand, PLUS teal, which is another color composed of the purple and green.

Kornerupine mining has long since stopped, and rough prices have become extremely high.  There is no more to be bought or had, pretty much.  

This glorious example of the gem type has a little salt-and-pepper, but it is all small, and sparse.  The color more than makes up for the 'decorations'.

Great gem for a stacker ring, or a bail.
