Gem:  Tourmaline

Weight:  4.865 ctw / 0.973 grams

Dimensions:  15.4 to 16 mm

Clarity:  Eye Clean, mostly; probably better as crystals, but the wider one MIGHT be facetable

Origin:  Rubaya Mine, Democratic Republic of Congo

Treatments:  None

Comments:

I paired these together because each of them had an extra strong pink color, and a compact yellow to green section, making it right in the middle of the color-accurate watermelon range.

They are quite different in size and shape, but are a good match for color, and in similar proportions.

'Sweet and sour watermelon' comes to mind with these.

As mentioned above, the wider one COULD be faceted if you wanted.  The narrower one might turn out OK as a small gemstone, but I think it would be better use of the material if left as a crystal.

Regardless of how they are appreciated, these are extra vibrant, and would look great in jewelry or in a collection.
