Comments:
This gem is laser bright. The color can be seen clearly in near-dark conditions. This one was done up to meetpoint perfection by Scott Maier in a design created specifically for this piece of rough. It suits it perfectly. It's brilliant, it's proportions are handsome, and even the minimal silk gives this one tons of color depth.
I did check around to get a consensus whether this is a ruby or not, and the consensus was that it's really close, but would probably come back graded as a fancy pink sapphire.
It matters little what you call it, this gem is suitable for the classiest of projects. Winza sapphires are always unique - each one is one in a billion billion due to their extreme color variations. This one is actually a mostly solid deep magenta color, but it has two spots of deep, inky blurple color. These blops of color are all the way off to the side, tucked in by the girdle. They can be featured if desired, but also, would hide almost entirely underneath a bezel setting.
