Comments:
This new find of garnets in Tanga Tanzania made quite a splash in the gem rough world. The colors have a good range of tones including reddish orangey pink, magenta, and purplish pink. They also seem to have a ittle extra fire, and the color is a bit more open than your average rhodoite garnet.
Although nothing, in my opinion, can compare to how special original find Mahenge garnets were, these garnets do a pretty good job trying. I did a test cut on this rough, with each of what I would call the three most obvious colors (mentioned above).
I have included photos of the gems I faceted from this material, and they are for example only!! the faceted gems are not a part of this listing available for purchase, they are just there to show potentially interested cutters what the gems are capable of.
