Comments:
This kornerupine falls into the 'special color' category for vanadium bearing. Vanadium kornerupine generally runs a variety of LIGHTER green tones between yellowish green and lime green, but occasionally, a richly medium green one comes along -- almost spot on with the color of tsavorite, and some emeralds. And this one definitely has a crisp glow to it.
It's a very fun, dynamic pattern that really does not want to window!! This helps, since the gem required a flat culet. A flat culet isn't ever my FIRST choice, but it does look great with edgy, angular, modern designs such as this one.
This would make an unbelievable custom gentleman's ring. The flat culet would be a real added benefit in that capacity, keeping a lower profile in stone-setting.
