Comments:
This large 'tile' cabochon was faceted in my home studio in Northern Vermont, roughly 100 yards from where it was unearthed.
It's the most vividly gemmy serpentine I have found, and I have gone through a lot of vermont serpentine material. This piece is truly noteworthy.
It's roughly the size of a dog tag, maybe a little larger. Has good heft, and thickness.
The vivid green area is the dark patch, which is the main feature of this gem, but it also has some intrusions of an almost white color opaque serpentine, and also has a healthy seasoning of black magnetite crystals lodged in all areas. It's got aesthetics for days.
Faceted to an even matte finish on all sides and bevels.
